Funding
One of the major aspects of starting out your own venture is the art of funding. While you are at it, there are many important issues that you would have to deal with, such as convincing your financiers about the viability of your product (that you wish to launch), or of the new project that you have undertaken. To take care of this vital part of entrepreneurship, so that more and more individuals come to the fore with unique business ideas, there are many financiers who help them take this first baby step.
Such people may be registered institutions or individuals who offer you or lend you capital at easy rates of interest, so as to facilitate your venturing into the business world. They maybe venture capitalists or promoters etc. Venture capitalists are people who are market experts and specialize in funding start-up business ventures of people who do not possess adequate capital resources. They also specialize in taking over a business that has reached its bottom-low in terms of performance, putting in capital and resources, turning it around and then selling it back to any potential buyer. They make a profit out of the difference in the money that they have put in and the money they earn through the sale. They thus help people who would not be able to have any other source of funds, such as public subscription.
Promoters are also more or less the same as venture capitalists. They will be very instrumental in pushing forward the idea and the concept, putting in all requisite efforts to help the business through the formative stage of infancy, seeing it through and then leaving it. Further, the promoters usually do not have much of a say in the company decisions after they have left the business, although their names are mentioned in the company documents etc. further they have a major say in the selection of directors of the company.
While opting for various kinds of options to take care of the funding of your business, you should make sure that the interest you end up paying is not very high and the rate is also well distributed over the years. Public subscription is also a major and important resource of funding that is available to a company that is registered and that has had at least minimum years of running in the market, independently, as per the prescribed rules of the Company Act. However, this option is only available to those who are not in their initial stage of performance in the market.
